DTSC - Data Science Major

The Data Science template major offers an interdisciplinary approach that combines foundational training in computer science and applied mathematics with opportunities for project-based learning and domain-specific applications across the liberal arts. Students develop the mathematical, computational, and analytical skills necessary to extract insights from data, solve complex problems, and make evidence-based decisions. The curriculum also provides opportunities to engage with advanced topics in both computer science and mathematics. In addition, this major emphasizes ethical reasoning, effective communication, and critical reflection on the ethical, societal and policy implications of data science practices, preparing students to address challenges across a wide range of fields.
